What food can you find in Melaka, i would say that i definitely go a place that serve good Baba-Nyonya food and cendol. I went to Bibik Neo since my sister recommended me. As we seldom travel to Melaka, it took us few rounds to find it.
It was not easy to notice this place. But luckily, we were able to locate it after a few calls to the restaurant.
The keropok was so good that we wanted to buy it from the restaurant owner. The keropok are only available at the shop opposite of Bibik Neo named 'Kapitan'
The Sambal Belacan(Rm 8) with Ikan Bilis has the 'omh' for it's spiciness and with crispy anchovies(ikan bilis). You can also dip your keropok into the belacan.
Lemak Fish(Jernak) (Rm 26), it was the first time i heard a fish name Jernak, but since it was the waitress's recommendation, we gave it a shot. The dish was not too spicy with a bit of sourish taste from the pineapple.
Chincalok Omelet(Rm 8), i guess nothing could go wrong for this, except for its saltiness.
Kangkung Belacan (Rm 8.00)
Among all dishes, Chicken Pongteh (Rm 12) was a big disappointment. We didn't like the diluted gravy and the chicken was overcooked resulting a tough meat to bite on.
A bowl of Sago Gula Melaka/Cendol(Rm 2.80) is a must if you come to Melaka. The strong taste of gula melaka is the bomb compared to those cendol in K.L. Every scoop of it, you could taste the fragrance of it.
